01 // The brief

Kiln is a small ceramics studio in Aarhus selling through Instagram and a market stall. Orders came in by direct message, and the owner spent evenings copying addresses into spreadsheets.

They needed a brand that felt as handmade as the pots, plus a storefront that could take orders without losing the warmth of buying from a person.

02 // Process

How it came together

Step 01

Start at the studio

I photographed the workshop for two days. The glaze colours, tool marks and fingerprints in the clay became the visual language for the identity.

Step 02

A quiet identity

A hand-cut wordmark, an earthy palette pulled from raw glazes, and generous white space so each piece can be the loudest thing on the page.

Step 03

Shopify, tuned for one-offs

Many pieces exist only once. I built product pages that show sold-out items gracefully and offer a “make me one like this” request instead of a dead end.

04 // Results

Within six months online sales were up 58%. The studio now takes pre-orders for custom pieces through the site, and the owner has her evenings back.
